IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Entering the awards is free. The first step is to create an account which takes a few seconds. You will then receive an email from ‘ awards@thepbgroup.com ’ please click on this to verify your details. You’ll then be directed to the entry pages of the awards. You don’t have to upload your entry in one go; you can save your details to complete at a time to suit you. After entering you can return using your login credentials and enter other categories, book tables and manage your account. Please click here for further assistance with the entry process.


WHO CAN ENTER
  • Any qualified hairdresser who works within the regions outlined.
  • Entrants must work in a commercial environment and have done so for a minimum of three years (excluding training).
  • Entrants must have a regular client column within the region entered. This means working regularly with clients, in a salon, for a minimum of one day per week. This may be checked.
  • Entrants can submit with one other stylist from their salon but cannot submit with any more unless entering Artistic Team of the Year.
  • Entrants must be over 18 years old at the time of the British Hairdressing Awards 2026.
  • For Newcomer of the Year, entrants must be younger than 27 years of age, at date of entry.
  • If you have cut and styled the hair and someone else has coloured the hair this is deemed as a joint entry and MUST be submitted as a joint entry (both names must be included on all entry forms - digital and print).
  • An individual may only enter from one salon/space, in one region, in any given year. You can enter any number of the specialist categories.
  • Winners recognised in the Hall of Fame can re-enter their chosen category after a two-year rest period.


YOUR IMAGES

NEW FOR 2026: In most categories we have reduced the number of images required from eight down to six, with only foour images needed for the first round. Check your chosen category for the precise rules.

  • Work submitted may be published work, with the exception of British Hairdresser of the Year, where only unseen collections can be submitted.
  • Work submitted cannot have been entered into British Hairdressing Awards before (regardless of slightly different poses used or photographic treatments applied).
  • Images entered must have been photographed between 1 July 2024 and 26 June 2026.

Replication of images across categories - a maximum of four images can be repeated across two categories, with the following exceptions:

  • Images entered into Newcomer of the Year or Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year cannot be entered into any other category. Images entered into Trend Image of the Year cannot be entered into any other category.You can only enter Trend Image of the Year once, in any one year.
  • Images entered into Men’s Hairdresser of the Year can be entered into any other category.
  • All images entered into Schwarzkopf Professional British Colour Technician of the Year can also be entered into one of the regional categories (they cannot be repeated in International Hairdresser of the Year nor any of the other specialist categories).
  • All images entered into Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year cannot be entered into any other category.


HOW TO ENTER

STEP 1 Decide which category, or categories you want to enter (entry is free).

STEP 2 Read rules and regulations for each category you wish to enter.

STEP 3 Share a copy of the Rules & Regulations, ahead of your photoshoot. Consider requesting that your photographer also takes your headshot as part of the shoot. Photographers are requested to confirm that they have not retouched or manipulated in any way. By this, we are referring to the hair only. i.e. The colour or hairstyle cannot be altered. We allow touch ups, however, if the touch ups alter the hair colour or style, this is not allowed.

STEP 4 Create your entry (print and digital).
