Lisa Farrall
Some careers follow the industry. Others redefine it.
Lisa Farrall has spent more than three decades doing exactly that.
From picking up a hairdryer at thirteen in a small Midlands salon to becoming one of the most influential creative voices in global hairdressing, Lisa has built a career on challenging convention. She has never accepted that certain stylists should specialise in certain hair types, nor that education should have boundaries. Instead, she has dedicated her career to one belief: every stylist should be able to work confidently with every hair texture.
That philosophy has become the foundation of everything she creates.
As the founder of WIG London, Lisa has pioneered a texture-neutral approach to education, mentoring thousands of hairdressers across the world to deliver exceptional work on every client. More than teaching technique, she is reshaping mindsets, breaking down barriers and helping build a more inclusive future for the profession.
Her influence extends far beyond the salon.
Lisa’s creative vision has shaped campaigns, editorials and performances for some of the world’s most recognised artists and brands, including Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Usher, Cynthia Erivo, Romy and Bree Runway. From the cultural impact of All The Stars for Marvel’s Black Panther to international fashion campaigns and award-winning editorial collections, her work has become recognised for combining technical excellence with powerful storytelling.
Whether backstage at Fashion Week, on international campaign sets or judging on E4’s The Big Blow Out, Lisa brings the same authenticity that has become her signature: uncompromising standards, fearless creativity and an unwavering commitment to raising the industry as a whole.
Recognition has naturally followed.

Through education, mentorship, editorial work and advocacy, she is helping shape an industry where creativity and inclusion exist without compromise.

From educating hairdressers across the UK and internationally to mentoring the next generation of talent, she is passionate about recognising creativity, technical excellence and the future of professional hairdressing.
Nneka Allison is a hair artist and founder of HoochTeeStyles, specialising in bold 90s retro and alternative hairstyles. Inspired by colour, culture and creativity, she is known for pushing boundaries and transforming textured hair into wearable art.
Growing up in West London, Nneka discovered her passion for hair at just 14 years old, experimenting with styles inspired by old-school hip hop, punk rock and the fearless self-expression of the dancehall culture in the 90s. Those early influences continue to shape her signature aesthetic today.
In 2023, she founded HoochTeeStyles with a vision of creating more than a hairstyling business. Built as a creative house rather than a traditional salon brand, HoochTeeStyles exists to blur the lines between hair, fashion and art, celebrating individuality through bold, nostalgic and alternative styling.
Now based in Birmingham and covering London and the surrounding areas, Nneka is also building an international presence, with her work gaining recognition in New York. Through editorial styling, education and live demonstrations, she continues to inspire fearless self-expression while redefining what’s possible with textured hair.

Sam Villa is changing the industry, one hairdresser at a time. Whether teaching face-to-face in small hands-on classes, on main stage, or reaching his millions of social media followers, Sam changes people. He is a true leader that brings out the best in others and is known for doing things differently to challenge, inspire and motivate change. His encouragement to stylists is unrivaled, as he genuinely wants each one of them to reach deep to identify how they can make a change to promote their own growth. Sam’s talents stretch far beyond his brilliant cutting and finishing skills; he has a plethora of business skills that enliven stylists to think about how they speak to their guests to add value behind the chair.
“Sharing is the greatest gift we can give one another…to help each other grow and prosper, we all need to pay it forward,” says Sam. Consistent research, along with a respect for the fundamentals, Sam is always on the move for new and unconventional ways of cutting and finishing hair - like using a flat iron for versatility, texturizing iron to create hidden volume and using disconnection to create styles that look blended and can be worn in multiple ways. He is a true messenger sharing his knowledge with stylists in hopes that they too will share with others to enrich the industry…an act of giving for which he was named the 2020 International Hair Influencer of the Year at the International Hairdressing Awards.
Sam is in his glory and most comfortable when teaching – a natural transition from his early coaching days in sports. Practice, practice, practice, until you master the craft and then share with others, so they too can become successful! Whether facilitating an in-salon class or on a stage at a major event, there is always something to be discovered and learned. “Stylists need a good understanding of the fundamentals of basic techniques. Once mastered, technique can then be manipulated to create modern silhouettes and textures,” explains Sam.
“It’s time to SHOUT IT OUT! The way for us to BE better is to COME TOGETHER as an industry, and the SHOUT begins here with Sam Villa and Redken!” adds Sam.
Sam is co-founder of the Sam Villa® brand (Allvus, LLC) www.samvilla.com targeting stylists, as well as consumers. A colour specialist with over 20 years in the hairdressing industry, working from Pure Hair in Belfast.
My focus has always been colour. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working as a Wella Guest Artist across the UK and Ireland, specifically for the Wella Colour Expert Creative Days, sharing technique and creative direction with fellow colourists.
Being based in Belfast has shaped how I approach the craft, there’s a real energy and pride in the Northern Irish hairdressing community. That’s made it all the more meaningful to be named Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year 2025 and Irish Hair Colourist of the Year 2026, recognition I don’t take for granted.
Judging is something I take seriously and enjoy in equal measure. I love seeing the passion, precision, and individuality that colourists bring to their work, and I’m honoured to be part of the panel for the British Hairdressing Awards.
